5 Reasons Why You Should Be Entering Industry Awards

You business should be applying for industry awards

Have you entered yourself or your business into awards in the last year or so?

Not many people have in fairness, and I know why. Maybe now isn’t the best time to place yourself on a pedestal and apply yourself to that type of recognition. I get it – I really do.

However, business owners need to plan for the future – even during the pandemic. This could well go on for another year, and business doesn’t stay still. We all have an income to earn, and this method could actually assist in this. Let me explain by giving you 5 strong reasons.

Widening Your Audience

First and foremost, if you get to qualify and better still win an award, there is usually a burst of FREE promotion normally from the competition itself. If it’s a large and prestigious award, it could well be picked up from local or even national news as well.

Industry Credibility

When you enter industry awards, you build credibility by being recognized as a potential leader in the industry. You become the go-to as you place your business at the forefront.

If you can follow this up with interviews and staff profiles, explaining their experience as well – it becomes a fabulous tool as well.

Attracting Staff and Opportunity

As I’m sure you can imagine, by placing your business as the market leader, you can attract a vital caliber of experienced staff too, people who want to work for a recognized leader that potentially offers them better prospects of growth and security.

The same can be said for clients too. They feel more secure with a recognized leader and can entrust their business with what they feel is a better-known brand that is trusted and respected in their area of expertise.

Staff or Management Recognition

Large organizations can really stock up some points by looking after the staff and giving them their hard-earned recognition by entering awards as well.

By placing their staff, departments, or projects into awards, it shows they have officially recognized the hard work completed by the staff.

Content Extraordinaire

Believe it or not, this could also be a valuable and reasonable way to build content too! Between first getting into the qualifying rounds and perhaps winning, it gives you fresh content to create and put out.

You can talk about the achievements of the staff or company overall, the projects won and recognized.

On balance, this may be a smaller win for a company on the awards side of things, but when you qualify or win awards, it is recognized as something you “allowed” to do, and there is truly no better time for it!

Awards are hard to enter for a reason. They are looking for the cream to rise to the top. Don’t let this put you off, however. It may be challenging, and it sometimes takes a lot of writing and rewriting to enter an award, but the benefits are there. You can really make a difference by entering awards, not just for your personal growth but for those that are under you too.

Check out your national and international awards in your sector, and start applying this year!
