Boosting Your Business with a Small Social Following

While you might have big dreams of creating a viral video that will bring you millions of followers, it isn’t necessary to succeed. Viral is often like the 15 minutes of fame we remember from 1980’s songs. For a business to be successful through its fans and followers, you need a community that loves your products. They are people that are well-targeted and who truly love your brand. When it comes down to it, it’s the sales that matter and not a massive following. The diamond is in getting future customers you can get to know and who like and trust you. You don’t need a large following; you just need followers that count. Exceed Your Customers Expectations

Once you’ve made the sale, don’t drop the ball. Continue educating your customers and keeping them engaged. See how you can improve and how you might wow them next time if you didn’t this time around. Make sure they have an outstanding customer experience, as this can create a loyal customer for life. Think about what information you can give them to solve their particular issues. There’s a lot of power behind being focused on your ideal customer. You become very aware of what it is they need. You know how they think and what they want. It puts you in alignment to give that to them. Similar customer types can be found hanging around in the same groups and communities across social media. It gives you the benefit of having them spread the word about you on multiple platforms.

Don’t start with hard-sales right off the bat. Instead, give them something of value. Educate them so you can build trust. When you build up that trust, you create a relationship, and the customers will start to see you as their go-to source for certain things. If your information is consistently helpful to them, you’ll create loyalty. Then you can begin asking nicely for a sale. You may want to start by asking for the sale first, but it’s not going to get you far. Educate your customers and then ask for the sale – this will be way more effective. Be a leader in educating your customers, and you’ll stay on top of their minds when they want the product/service you provide.

There’s a lot of strength in all of this. First, you become a CEO celebrity in the industry you work for. You might not be super famous, but when someone needs your product, they come to you and nobody else. As a business owner, that is the ultimate success.

Get Contact Information

Instead of focusing on a large following, you can seek to get closer to your current fans. It’s important to get contact information so you can continue to communicate with your followers. You’ll also want to create a call to action for when you follow up with your customers. It should have a good flow, so the customer doesn’t feel blindsided by a sales pitch. You’re just moving them through the sales funnel, gently. Eventually, you’re going to get the sale if you’re patient. Automated marketing tools such as Mailchimp and Keap can be beneficial with this.

Target Those Who Care the Most

It’s all about quality as opposed to quantity when you market yourself as a business with social media. You want to tune into your customers and what they need the most. Figure out who your best customer is. What do they look like? You want to break this down so you can speak to these customers when you post a video, content, or image. Every time you post, think about what your customers want to see and hear from you.

It might be a nice thought to be known all over the world through viral videos. However, that might not mean you’ll be making a lot of sales conversions over it. It is far easier to manage a small number of loyal fans. You can easily speak to their pain points and gain more sales as a result. It is how your small following can bring you a lot of success. So if you’re feeling like your social media campaign isn’t working, think again. Stay true to your brand and educate your followers so they’ll remain loyal to you.
