Best Laptops for Business and Personal Use

A good business laptop can either help your workday along or slow it down and make it unproductive. That is why choosing the right work laptop is important. But what if you want to use your device for both work and play? Some laptops, however, can be used for much more than work.

Although there are several differences between business and personal laptops, some offer enough features to be used for both occasions. There are many important reasons why you should consider getting a separate laptop for work. Security, work-life separation, and capabilities are just a few. But sometimes buying a separate device is not an option. If that is the case, we’ve compiled a list of laptops that are great for business or personal use.

Dell XPS 13

We’ve previously mentioned the Dell XPS laptops in other articles. The XPS series of laptops (including the XPS 15 and 17) are considered among some of the best business laptops around. However, if you’re looking for an XPS that serves as a great personal computer too, the XPS 13 should be enough.

This device is extremely lightweight, weighing only 2.59 pounds, enabling portability for busy people on the go. This device can connect to a mobile device as well. Aside from the many features that make this device beneficial for business, users also have the option to use this device in a higher power mode that allows graphics to run smoothly.

This boosts entertainment experiences such as gaming and streaming. In fact, we’ve even listed it on our list of business laptops that can also game. You can thank the 11th Gen InteI Core mobile processors for that. This model also comes with a very responsive touchscreen. You can easily go as low as 8GB of RAM. But if you’re using this laptop for double duty, you may want to get 16GB.

We’re also seeing battery life go as long as 18 hours. Making it a business laptop with one of the longest battery life.

This MacBook M2 includes a minimum of 8GB RAM and a minimum of 256GB of storage. For Apple loyalists, this is a no-brainer. However, if you’re a person that toggles between Apple, Android, and Windows, you need to seriously consider the MacBook as a business and personal laptop. That is if you don’t mind not having a lot of ports.

HP – ENVY

For those who need more design features in their business, the HP Envy may be a better solution. And, often, at a better price than the MacBook Air. Many models of the Envy start around $700 but you’ll also see prices in the $1,200’s if you decide to go with more storage. Making the HP Envy a great budget business laptop too. The Envy’s 2-in-1 design features make it easy to use for digital art or easy access to applications. This also makes it easier to multitask, giving users the ability to switch between tabs and applications with simplicity. Lenovo makes some great business laptops. In fact, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is one of the best business laptops in the world. The Lenovo Yoga, however, is one of those devices that falls right in the middle of being a work laptop and a personal one. We could say the same for the Lenovo ThinkBook and Legion. But for this list, we choose the Yoga. That is because the laptop combines several features that can make it capable of handling work and personal tasks.

Similar to the HP Envy, the Yoga is a 2-in-1. This laptop has a 16” screen, with 91% of the area being the display. The Lenovo Yoga offers users a built-in Dolby Atmos four-speaker system, allowing for a smooth day at work or quality entertainment afterwards.
