Best 17-Inch Business Laptops for 2024

Best 17-inch Business Laptops

Many of us love working on our desktops when working from home or in the office. Even though a good business laptop can do just about everything a desktop can, there is something about working at a desk with a movable keyboard, space to move my mouse and adjustable monitor that makes some of us feel more comfortable. And then, of course, there is the larger screen. Working on a 24″ or even a 27″ screen seems to keep me more focused than working on my 15″ laptop. I prefer my desktop over using an external monitor.

I know many people that feel the same way. Which is why it is puzzling that there are not more 17″ business laptops available. Maybe people feel that a 17-inch laptop is too large to carry around. Or perhaps screen size just isn’t that important for most people. Whatever the case may be, you may have had the desire to work on your business or for your job while using a laptop with a big, bright screen.

In this article, we will be looking at some of the best business laptops with 17-inch screens. One of the major benefits of a 17-inch laptop is the larger screen. Many people feel that the larger screen is less strain on their eyes while working. A 17-inch laptop is also great for creatives and designers. The larger screen can make creations jump off of the screen while working on them. The larger screen is also good for those who watch videos on their laptops.

So if you’re looking for a great 17-inch laptop to work on your business or job, here are 4 of your best options.

Dell XPS 17

The Dell XPS has a reputation for being one of the better Windows laptops available. We listed the XPS 15 as one of the best business laptops of the year. With the XPS 17, you get many of the same features, power, and performance, but with a spacious 16:10 17-inch screen. You have the option of selecting a 1920 x 1200 pixel non-touch version or a 3840 x 2400 model.

Almost all of the laptop’s specifications are amazing. It comes with an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA RTX graphics card. This business laptop is not a gaming laptop but can handle some light gaming without issue. Dell has also equipped this laptop screen with Eyesafe technology. This tech is designed to reduce harmful blue light all while maintaining vivid color.

The trackpad on this model is huge! It really makes navigating and scrolling easy. Makes me wonder why more Windows laptops don’t increase the size of their pads. One downside to the new XPS is it only has a USB-C port. This is fine, however, more USB ports would be nice to have. Overall, the Dell XPS 17 is hard to beat as a 17-inch work device.

LG Gram 17 (Pro)

The LG Gram is a severely overlooked laptop, in my opinion. The Gram 17 with a 17-inch screen is no different. One of the faults of having a 17-inch laptop is the possibility of carrying a larger, sometimes heavier, computer. However, the Gram is ultra-lightweight at only 3 lbs. That is a full pound and a half less than the Dell XPS 17.

The LG Gram 17 is also a very capable device powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor and NVIDIA Graphics. This model comes with 1TB of storage and 16GB of memory with a clock speed of 5200 Mhz. The battery life is really good too. You get about 12.5 hours of battery of continuous work so it can handle longer workdays with no problem. The backlit keyboard with 10 key numeric pad is also nice to have.

The 17″ WQXGA IPS display with DCI-P3 99% looks great. This computer also has a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Another extra is that it does have multiple USB ports as well as one HDMI. If you’re looking for a 17″ laptop with premium features for less than other brands, you should seriously consider the LG Gram 17.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17″

If you’re in the market for a 17-inch work laptop but want a budget-friendly device, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is your best bet. Lenovo seems to have discontinued the ThinkPad P17. There is also the ThinkPad P16, with a 16″ screen but it carries a price tag of over $1,500. The IdeaPad 3 17, however, is usually priced around $500.

But, it does deliver some good features for the price. The IdeaPad 3 laptop does deliver speed and endurance with the AMD Ryzen 5 5625U processor. However, you only get 8GB of memory and 512GB of storage. But, the good news is that the display is impressive. The 17.3″ FHD IPS display lets you see your screen from any angle, along with narrow bezels.

Lenovo calls the IdeaPad 3 a travel laptop. However, it is a bit heavy at 4.8 lbs. This coupled with the 17″ screen can make this machine a better home office computer than a travel one. The IdeaPad 3 does have a sleek look, comes with a fingerprint reader and 10 key numeric pad. Overall, a great option for the price.

HP Envy 17″

Another great business laptop with a 17″ screen and a decent price is the HP Envy 17″. HP has built a computer that boots up fast and houses the Intel Core i7-1165G7 Processor to deliver exceptional speed. The Envy has 16GB of high-bandwidth RAM. You will be able to run multiple applications with little trouble.

The display on the Envy is well-done. It comes with a 17.3″ diagonal touchscreen FHD display. For the price, there is not much that HP hasn’t added to this computer. Fingerprint reader, 3 SuperSpeed USB Type-A ports, HDMI, and a backlit keyboard with 2 settings, just to name a few. HP also makes a 17″ Pavillon but if we had to choose, it would be the Envy by a nose.

Conclusion

A 17-inch laptop can eliminate the need for an external monitor and can help provide greater clarity. And, some models can provide a larger screen without being too heavy. If you’re still looking for a great business laptop, check out the articles below.
