Although social media can play a significant role in the success of your business, it doesn’t have to be the end-all-be-all of marketing. Developing a strong marketing strategy means learning to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to you – not just the ones that are trending.

Social Media Isn’t Everything

Despite what persistent ads might lead you to believe, social media isn’t the only way to market your business on or offline. The internet is a rapidly growing space with limitless marketing potential just waiting to be tapped into.

That’s not even including the vast possibilities available to you when you use other online resources. Rather than obsessively focus on following trends and gathering likes, take advantage of the unique benefits other, more traditional marketing strategies have to offer.

Build a strong, reliable contact list you can consult when sending email campaigns. You may not realize it, but most people – approximately 4 billion users – check their inboxes every day, even if it’s just a quick glance.

When you send an email campaign to contacts you’ve accumulated, you’re putting your brand in their daily line of sight. If you’ve already gathered their contact information previously, you can almost guarantee they’re interested in your company and are thus more likely to open your campaign and check it out.

Groupon is a coupon-saving app used by consumers looking to get a good deal on a purchase. 24 million people regularly use Groupon for shopping and virtual coupon clipping – an audience you shouldn’t let slip through your fingers.

Groupon isn’t just for large corporations, either – they cater to over 1 million small businesses across the globe. This is a quick and convenient way to directly offer deals to customers.

3. Host an Event

Hosting an event is a great way to gain attention from potential customers while having some fun. Signing up as a vendor or guest speaker at public events can also do a lot for your business’s local reputation, which in turn builds trust with your community and target audience.

You can host events live on the internet as well, and you don’t have to use social media to do it. Video and streaming apps like Discord make it possible to host a live webinar, giveaway, or workshop without stressing about what’s trending or using the right hashtags.
