Google Ventures has just released something that may be very valuable to startups of all sizes and sectors. GV is Google’s venture capital arm that invest seed, venture, and growth-stage capital to over 250 companies. Those companies inclue Uber, DocuSign, and Cloudera.
Recently, GV has released a do-it-yourself guide for statups looking to run a prototyping process that Google calls “sprints”. The sprint is a five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.
Here is a quick rundown of the sprint process:
Monday-Unpack the problem.
Tuesday-Sketch competing solutions on paper.
Wednesday-Argue and decide how to turn your ideas into testable hypothesis.
Thursday-Develop a high-fidelity prototype.
Friday-Test on humans.
Google is releasing this guide as a preparation for a future book release on these and other techniques.
