When it comes to productivity apps, we have a plethora of suggestions. However, everyone’s needs and requirements are different. Apps that work for you may not work for someone else. In addition, some of us require a little extra motivation to complete our tasks.

Productivity is crucial for everyone. However, for entrepreneurs and business owners, productivity is a must. Sometimes a person can increase productivity by removing distractions and increasing focus. But, that is getting more difficult to do as we are constantly interrupted by distractions. Some of these distractions cannot be avoided. However, others can be eliminated thanks to some useful apps.

There are a plethora of productivity apps available for entrepreneurs on the market. Some are great, others are not. Then there are a few that actually force you to be productive. In this article, we’ve compiled a list of the best productivity tools that force you to accomplish your goals. Whether you’re looking to increase your productivity or trying to get out of a productivity slump, these apps will help you out.

FOREST

Task: Time-Tracking

Do you want to disconnect from your phone for a while? Are you an environmentalist? Then, Forest is a great option! The app operates as a focusing tool with its taglines “Be present” and “Stay Focused.” To get started, pick a tree and set a timer for it to flourish (10 to 120 minutes). Then, while you are at work, your tree will continue to grow until it is finally added to your forest. However, your tree will self-destruct and perish if you choose to use your phone during that time.

The Forest app also collaborates with a tree-planting program called “Trees for the Future.” They’ve planted 1,182,254 trees so far, according to the Forest app!

Available for:  iOS, Android, and Web

TIDE

Task: Time-Tracking with Nature Sounds

If you usually procrastinate and need a tool that forces you to work for a set period of time, Tide is the app for you. With its 4.9-star rating and simple design, Tide enables you to work using the Pomodoro technique. This technique requires you to work for 25 minutes and then take a short rest. Tide is much more than a stopwatch with its wide variety of ambient noises (waves, rain, etc.). The app also has meditations available for you to listen to while you work.

Available for:  iOS, android

THE MOST DANGEROUS WRITING APP

Task: Writing

This web application acts as a writing tool with a twist. The app, as the name implies, deletes your work whenever you decide to take a break!

So, if you want only to stay focused and scribble down your thoughts, this app is for you. But, of course, you can make any adjustments later. There’s also “Hardcore Mode,” which blurs everything but the letter you’re on.

Available for: Web

Alternatives: Flow State, iA Writer.

BEEMINDER

Task: Goal-Tracking

Place a bet and watch yourself complete the task. However, be prepared to lose your money if you choose not to accomplish your assignment, as Beeminder is linked to your PayPal account. You can enter any of your goals that have a numerical value. For example, if you want to lose weight, you must first decide how much you want to lose each week. Then, you will have to log in your progress. Still, linking Beeminder to your PayPal account is a choice, and you can still track your progress. But, we really like the concept of putting money at stake.

Available for: iOS, Android, and Web

Alternative:  StickK

FREEDOM

Task: Website Blocking, App Blocking

Freedom is one of the most powerful tools for restricting websites and applications. This software is one of our favorites because it can run on all of your devices simultaneously.  Freedom allows you to create as many blocklists as you want before starting the session. It includes “Lockdown Mode,” which prevents you from editing the list while the session is active, forcing you to finish whatever task you are working on!

Available for: iOS, Android, and Web

Alternatives:  Stay Focus and Self-Control (Free)

Screen time, an iOS feature, works well with website blocking as well as time tracking.

RESCUE TIME

Task:  Automatic Time-Tracking and Productivity Reports

Rescue Time records how much time you spend on various websites. It generates productivity reports that reveal how much of your time is productive and how much is not. As we have no idea how we spend our time on the Internet, Rescue Time will present you with eye-opening reports.

Available for: iOS, Android, Web Extension

Alternative: DeskTime, Activity Watch

SPIKE

Task: Chat-Like Emailing

Imagine how your emails would appear if they were a chat conversation. Spike is great at this. It allows you to use the same email address you have been using and does not need to be downloaded by your contacts. Spike also offers several additional features, such as calendars, to-do lists, and allows you to create a priority email list. You can also add members to a group on Spike. Members of the group will be unaware that you have created an email group. Therefore, this app is absolutely revolutionary!
